The presence of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in animal feed is regulated in the EU. It is recommended (1,2 - Adobe® Acrobat® PDF) that GM and non-GM feed production systems be segregated.
AgriGen Biotech has developed a qualitative test option that allows you to determine the GMO status of your feed sample. This highly sensitive test methodology uses our proprietary DNA extraction methods, developed for stockfeed MBM analysis, combined with state-of-the-art real-time PCR analysis for detecting GM plant material in feed (pellets, cubes etc). The method detects GM cotton seed, canola, soy and maize with a 0.1% Limit of Reporting (LOR). Control assays are available for cotton, soybean, canola, maize, wheat, or plant universal.
