GMO testing can be used to rapidly identify food products and ingredients that contain GMO. Our clients use GMO testing to determine whether their finished products or imported foods comply with Australian and international food labelling requirements. Alternatively, GMO testing can be used during the sourcing of ingredients and processing to actively control the GM status of finished foods.
AgriGen Biotech is able to provide cost effective GMO testing to our clients through an extensive platform of detection methods backed up with the scientific expertise of Australia's most experienced GMO analysts.
Our testing capabilities extend from protein strip testing, to general real-time PCR based GMO 'screening', to PCR methods capable of identifying and quantifying a specific GM event, eg RoundUp Ready® soy. The choice of a method that is most suited for each foodstuff is determined on a case-by-case basis. This is based on our client's requirements, in particular the information sought from testing, and type and degree of processing of the sample.
